Measurement & Control Technology and Instruments (Photoelectric Detection)

This program aims at cultivating high-quality application-oriented professional engineers who are particularly valuable and respectable in modern high-tech areas. 

By taking this program, undergraduate students will well master the basic principles and specialized knowledge concerning with measurement and control technology, optical engineering, electronics and computer science. They are expected to acquire decent practical skills and the ability to develop new specialized techniques or systems. The students also have good opportunities to learn the latest advances in the areas of photoelectric detection technology and optoelectronics information technology. 

Graduates are able to start their own career in the fields of electronics, optics, electrical engineering, photoelectric instrumentation, photoelectric detection technology, precision measurement technology, automation, artificial intelligence and embedded computer science, depending on their interests and personal skills. They can conduct scientific and technological research and carry out application investigation in many high-tech enterprises, research agencies or higher educational institutions.

Most of the professors and instructors affiliated with this program have rich experiences in doing long-term scientific research or investigating teaching skills at different agencies or universities in the US or European countries, including Princeton University and Harvard University. The faculty members have sound academic background and have efficient approaches of sharing rich specialized knowledge and proficient practical skills with the enrolled students who also are the friends of the teachers. All books and courses are using fully English to minimize language barriers. Advanced assistive facilities and interactive teaching methods are used simultaneously in the class to stimulate the students’ learning interests to the maximum extent. 

To wholly meet the needs of experiments and practical skill training, the department has more than 15 relevant and well-equipped laboratories, such as the Photoelectric Detection Tech Lab, Measurement and Control Tech Lab, Sensor Technique Lab, Circuit Principle Lab, Automotive Electronic Lab, DCS Lab, PLC Lab and so on. A number of students won the nationwide electronic instrument or robot contests with some advisors. So the students enrolled in this program will benefit from the professional practical training process, and their satisfaction of the experiments is guaranteed. 

The school and the department have a long history of international cooperation and intense collaboration with local enterprises. There are a few exchange programs between universities in China and those in Germany/Korea/Hong Kong. Also, there are signed agreements for ‘Connection with Education, Research and Industry’ between the school and some well-known companies such as SUPCON Corp, HOLLEY Corp, JBANG Corp, and so on. The international cooperation and local industrial collaboration not only will expand the students’ view in the specialized area but also will be very beneficial to their future career.

They can conduct scientific and technological research and carry out application investigation in related high-tech enterprises such as BOSCH, BMW, SIEMENS, HUAWEI, PHILIPS, Midea, GREE, and so on, and in various research agencies or related higher educational institutions, getting well paid through innovative work and winning high social respect.


Admission 

Undergraduate(Bachelor)

1. Qualifications Needed for Admission

  • 18 - 40 years old
  • A high school graduation certificate or above (need to submit high school certificate and transcripts)
  • Good health

2. Application Deadlines

  • Autumn Semester: Please apply before June 30th (Autumn Semester normally begins at the beginning of September).
  • Spring Semester: Please apply before January 30th (Spring Semester normally starts at the beginning of March).

3. Application materials

  • High school graduation certificate or a notarized copy (in Chinese or English)

Current year high school graduates are expected to show anticipated proof of graduation, and show the high school certificate after admission.

  • High school transcripts of all courses or a notarized copy (in Chinese or English).
  • Students whose native language is not English should provide proof of English proficiency (for English taught majors).
  • HSK level certificate and the transcript or a copy of both (for Chinese taught majors)
  • Bank remittance receipt of application fee: RMB400 Yuan or USD80
  • Study performance at original school (for students already studying in China)

4. Tuition fee:

Bachelor's Degree Program in Chinese:

  • RMB 15,000 Yuan/year for the following majors: Science, Engineering, Literature, Management
  • RMB 18,000 Yuan/year for the following majors: Art Design

Bachelor’s Degree Program in English:

  • RMB 16,000 Yuan/academic year for English-taught majors of International Economics & Trade and International Marketing.
  • RMB 18,000 Yuan/academic year for English-taught majors of Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Technology (Information Technology), Information and Computational Science (Statistics and Financial Actuarial Science), Food Science and Engineering, Communication Engineering, Digital Media Technology, Applied Physics (laser 3D Technology), Measuring and Control Technology and Instrumentation(Photoelectric Detection Technology)
