Student support
From arrival to graduation
Our support network will be there to help you every step of the way
Support from INTO China begins while you are still in your home country and continues throughout your studies. We'll help you with everything from your application, to visas, to finding the best place to eat in your new home. You are about to embark on a life-changing journey, and it’s not something we expect you to do on your own.
Support for students
Our Student Services Team
Based on the DUFE campus, the INTO Student Services team is dedicated to supporting you throughout your studies and provides a range of support services that specifically meet the needs of international students.
When you arrive in Dalian, the Student Services team will help you settle in to student life and remain your first point of contact for non-academic issues. Our staff speak a range of languages and are available to assist new and prospective students who may not be able to communicate effectively in Chinese. No matter how large or small your problem, there is always someone available to help.
Student mentoring system
Our student mentors will help you settle in to university life and make the most of your study abroad experience. All of our mentors are GIME teaching faculty, charged with providing academic support to a small group of 4-5 students per mentor. The mentoring system will help students get the most out of classes including:
Student Counselling Centre
Studying abroad is a growing and empowering experience but also a challenge both on academic and personal life. Dealing with pressure is a common challenge for all students. The Student Counseling Centre provides students with private and confidential psychological consultation. The Centre provides a wide range of services for the treatment and prevention of students who suffer from psychological and emotional distress, such as acculturation (feeling homesick), recognising signs of anxiety or depression, managing stress and supporting the general wellbeing of students.
24-hour support
INTO is dedicated to making you feel totally safe and supported. Upon arrival all students are issued with an emergency telephone number, which can be used to ask for assistance at any time of day or night. Within the student residences, there are wardens who are responsible for the pastoral care of students, and provide an additional source of support.

Staying safe on campus
It is very unlikely that you will encounter any kind of danger while studying at DUFE. Dalian is, in general, very safe but the usual precautions should be taken when walking around campus at night or when out and about in the city. There is a large network of CCTVs on campus, wardens situated at all road entrances, and daytime security at the reception of your accommodation building.
Health and medicine
There are medical facilities on-campus which students have access to for any minor health issues and many pharmacies where students can purchase the necessary medication. Pharmacies and hospitals may ask you whether you want to take western or Chinese medicine.
Feel free to contact the INTO China team if you need help to explain your symptoms or feel you need to go to hospital. In an emergency, you can contact the Student Services team using the emergency number or visit the INTO China office where staff can provide you with further support.
