On March 9th, as one of the first 28 universities joining China’s pilot scheme for educating international students, SCUT signed the agreement in acknowledging the authentication system for institutions of higher learning in China to educate international students.

The signing ceremony was held in Beijing by China Education Association for International Exchange (CEAIE), with Fang Jun, Deputy Director of Department of International Cooperation and Exchanges at the Chinese Ministry of Education, and Sheng Jianxue, Secretary General of CEAIE, present in the activity.

Fang Jun highlighted in his speech that he expected the implementing of the authentication system would create an opportunity for Chinese universities to improve their services and management in educating international students.

After introducing a few reform trends in visa application, internship and employment and talent recruiting of International students, he encouraged Chinese universities to strengthen supervision in academic fields and to build authentication system to ensure the education quality in these fields.

SCUT has started to prepare for the work of authentication in international education quality since the end of 2015. As one of the major tasks on this year’s calendar, the university is expected to further improve its education setups and services for foreign students.
