From July 18th to August 8th, 30 students of the SCUT Innovative Economics Program visited University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) in the United States.
The study program is called Economics Summer School Program 2015. During the three-week trip, the students were divided into three groups to experience, learn and practice.
In the professional training course, Professor Isaac impressed the students with interactive Q & A sessions. His teaching method made the students more active to participate in the discussion.
As part of the program, the students visited to the State House, Abraham Lincoln Presidential museum, Lincoln Home, and Lincoln Tomb.
Students experienced the western culture during their visit to US
The students also visited the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis. Having interactions with the staff working there, they studied the mechanism of the US central bank system.
At the end of the program, all of the students passed the examination and were granted certificate. Their performance was highly praised by faculty members of UIUC.
This summer school program provided the students an opportunity to experience the culture and creative patterns of western education. Their visions and experiences have been greatly broadened while their English language ability were improved by practices.
During the staying in US, the team of SCUT has established more friendship and trust with UIUC, laying solid foundation for future cooperation between the two universities.
